In the second volume of the HP books by JK Rowling, The (#1)Chrome Cab Festers, we continue to learn the incredible adventures of Hogwarts student (#2) Parry He Trot and his friends (#3) Oral Weensy and (#4) Angering Her More. Belonging to the house of (#5) Dry Off Grin, they attend Defense Against the (#6) Ark Darts taught by Wizarding celebrity (#7) Oracle Dorky Light, a none-too-bright fellow who cannot even handle pixies!

In The (#8) Chrome Cab Festers, we also meet Dobby a (#9)See Flu Oh for the first time. Determined Dobby seeks to sabotage the return of (#10) Parry He Trot to Hogwarts and is pretty persistent but is unsuccessful. After a few weeks at school, the deceased Ravenclaw student who haunts the girls lavatory, also known as (#11) My Molten Grain, shows (#12) Parry He Trot and (#13) Oral Weensy an old empty diary that dropped through her ghostly form out of thin air!

Many nifty things continue to happen for the next several months… we won’t go into all the juicy details right now… however, the ending is prime reading indeed!! (#14) Parry He Trot finally kills Tom Riddle’s (a.k.a #15 Mold Voter) sneaky diary (which we now know is a #16 Crux Rho) and saves the sister of (#17) Oral Weensy, (#18) Gayly Nine Sew!!!

Oh! Of course, we must mention that the thickheaded (#19) Oracle Dorky Light unintentionally erased his own memory, so he won’t be back for book three, The (#20) Snob In A Froze Parka

HPKCHC DADA Assignment June 2009

I respectfully submit one defeated Cruiatus curse in the form of my Ren Faire Shawl.

Back when we first moved into this particular house, I began a quick easy shawl of homespun on size 13 long straight needles for my first knitting project. (Did I mention we moved in here four years ago this month?) What could be simpler than a triangle shawl in garter stitch? So beginning it just before I began this job (Did I mention I'll be at this job four years this August 1st?), I would take it to work to knit on my free time or at home when watching tv with my hubby. That October, I set it aside to work on gifts... or at least that was my first excuse.

It became the project I hid.. under sweater sections, under boxes, under whatever I could bury it under. Even other WIP's. It went to the bottom of stacks and when I would spy it begging to be finished, I'd quickly cover it having no desire to face that quick simple easy boring tedious garter stitch.

Until this class (Did I mention this is now four years later). Determined it would no longer crucio me, I picked it up and went to work only to have it shoot one last cruciatus at me..... I had to buy circular 13's to finish it.... Did I mention I hate circular needles?

However, I now present my finished project

My Patronus - The Dragon

Photobucket

Yes, I chose the dragon as my patronus. Or perhaps he chose me for dragons have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. There is a fierceness and freedom about them in their fire and flight yet still a spirit of loyalty.

Funtimes with Prendolyn the Weird

Yesterday Prendolyn the Wierd (who also goes by the nickname archerpren) and I had an outing at a nearby town called Tulsa. About 2.5 hours from me, it gave us a chance to further get to know each other. We met up at Brookdale by Day for a delicious breakfast, my choice being the #6 omelet done with egg whites and containing chicken, spinach, mushroom and swiss cheese.

Pren is as great in person as 'at camp' and we had a great time after which we checked out a nearby LYS named Stitches at which I found cotton yarn on sale 75% off so 4 balls for the price of 1 :D

But eventually it became time to go separate ways but not before a few photos together

Also spent the weekend working on some crafts for an upcoming trip to Memphis *grins*

And how was everyone else's weekend?

Part 3: Get to know your Spoiler & Spoilee

Go through your spoiler AND spoilee’s projects on Ravelry (I think everyone has at least 1 thing I’d hope!) and comment on or favorite something you like. This is another way to get to know them better.

I get to spoil Cassandra Grubblyplank and I'm looking forward to it.

She has the most lovely pair of fingerless gloves on her - Spiraluscious Mitts - and the definitely look lucious in colors that remind me of phoenix fire. Her sock Piggy is so darling too!!

I've learned that Penelope of Flitwick will be spoiling me and I've seen she spins! I have a drop spindle and maybe one day I'll learn to use it. I saw the most lovely pair of mitts on her blog that she knitted. I'm not a knitter so seeing such lovely work by others is always a treat for me.

HPKCHC Herbology Assignment June 2009

Dragonsinger of Hufflepuff turning in her assignment.

While searching for gillyweed to harvest for potions class, I came across a rather surprising sight. It seems there is a Hufflepuff alumni that enjoys returning - via the lake - to take in the quidditch games and cheer on her house to which she still is loyal. On this day, she was wearing her rather lovely, hand crocheted bobble stitch house scarf and was kind enough to allow me to take photographs which I share with you now. For it seems, dear professor, that Loch Ness Monster, also known as Nessie, is a graduate of Hogwarts, House of Hufflepuff!

Another photo of the lovely scarf she wore to see the bobbles in every stripe!

HPKCHC Charms Assignment June 2009

I've only knit maybe 2-3 things ever but I've never attempted Illusion Crochet. Honestly till you posted this, I never knew it could be done in crochet too. Though the only existing pattern was a cute heart. While hearts are not a bad thing, any one of my friends can quickly tell you I don't do 'cute'.

But I definitely do caffeine!!! So I decided to attempt to create my own pattern and with that I present my attempt at Illusion Crochet.

A mug of coffee with wisps of steam rising.

HPKCHC Divination Assignment June 2009

Dragonsinger of Hufflepuff with her completed assignment.

When visiting Diagon Alley, one of my favorite places to stop in is Fabulous Starknuts & Knits

Starknuts is conveniently located in Diagon Alley and open to all Floo Networks with a sizeable fire place. Upstairs from the coffee shop is the Yarn shop for all your knitting and crocheting needs.

They use a special charm so that your beverage remains at your preferred temperature for as long as you have it. We offer a variety of flavors and drinks, both hot and cold.

Was by there just today and picked up some tea for my tealeaf reading. They have the most wonderfuly charmed teabags that allow the leaves to sift out so that they are in your cup for reading after finishing your tea.

HPKCHC Muggle Studies Assignment June 2009

My employer, Mr. Arthur Weasley has always been fascinated by the muggles and their inventions. One particular item has held strong interest by him, the muggle Rubber Ducky. It seems the muggles place great pride in their rubber duckys, for few muggle bathrooms are without them. They even write songs praising the virtues of the Rubber Ducky as you can see by these lyrics.

Mr. Weasley has been researching this matter and seemed to notice the popularity of Rubber Duckys increased at the same apparent rate as the muggles' usage of 'Electricity' and has come to the theory that these Rubber Duckys protect muggles frome electrocution when immersed in water in their bathtubs, as this seems to be the primary time for muggles to use these Rubber Duckys.

Based on Mr. Weasley's years of research, I humbly present a Rubber Ducky for your approval.

It seems this ducky encourage muggle children to submit themselves to cleaning and bathing, something we wizard parents do not need to do as we have various cleaning spells to remove dirt and grime from our children (Yes, I have used scourgify on my son after soccer games played in mud thank you very much!)

Sincerely,
Dragonsinger of Hufflepuff
